- On 21 Feb 1996 02:35:37 GMT, Antti J. Roppola may remember saying something along the lines of this:
- : A friend recently scored a Lexmark 4076 inkjet printer. Unfortunately, he
- : has not been able to get an Amiga specific driver for it (even the Australian
- : distributor doesn't seem to have a copy) and my surfing of AmiNet and the
- : Lexmark web sites hasn't produced too much.
-
- : Anyone know if/where one can get a driver for this printer, or a workable
- : alternative?
-
- : TIA,

- From what I've heard, Lexmark printers are what is known as "GDI"
- printers. No idea what that stands for, but basically it's something that
- interfaces directly with Windoze. Theoretically, it is still possible to
- drive the thing, given the right emulation/drivers, but I haven't seen
- anything about it yet. Although this sounds pretty obvious, I'd suggest
- mailling the printer driver Guru, Wolf Faust (of Print Studio fame) to
- see what he says.
